️The Lord is mighty enough to save, He is strong enough to deliver, and is great enough to fight your battles for you.
This morning the Lord wants to remind us that He is our Saviour, therefore He is mighty enough to save us, in fact He has already saved us.
Jesus has already saved us out of every messy, unfamiliar, and confusing situation; but there is one thing that the Lord wants us to get rid of, and that is the spirit of envy.
I don’t know why, but The Lord led me to this particular verse in scripture this morning, and it says;
““And the patriarchs, becoming envious, sold Joseph into Egypt. But God was with him”
Acts 7:9
You see the sprit of envy, it is a very dangerous and poisonous spirit.
The spirit of envy has the potential to throw you of course.
The spirit of envy has the potential to throw you of course.
The spirit of envy even has the potential of causing you to believe that you are in God’s perfect will.
A big lie.
The spirit of envy causes deception.
In fact that spirit is very popular in two places; the workplace, and church.
Very, very popular.
If we do not take care that spirit will eat us up.
You see the spirit of envy just starts of very small, it starts with that little thought, it begins with comparison.
Comparison is the issue.
Comparison has the potential to cause you to lose focus on God.
Unfortunately comparing is something that cannot always be avoided.
We are faced with it at work, in school, and even at home.
Comparison has the potential to cause strife.
We live in a very competitive society, but it is very important for believers to not get caught up in the competition,
but to rather focus on running the race and completing the race for the glorification of Jesus Christ.
You see, there is no competition when it comes to the things of God,
we do not compete against the works of the enemy because The Lord has already won the victory, we fight against it.
We are, victorious.
Ok now let’s go back to that word envy.
To be honest we have all been envious of something or someone at some point of our lives, even if it is just a little bit.
I can be honest and say that I have been a little envious at times.
Everybody wants to succeed, to have something, and nobody wants to be left behind, but in all the wanting, the desiring, and the hoping there’s one question that you must ask;
“Is this what The Lord wants for me”?
Is that what the Lord wants you to have?
In the midst of all the striving for perfection, is that His perfect will, or is it your perfect world?
Many believers are living in different kinds of worlds, many worlds that do not include God at all.
It is very important that we live in God’s perfect will.
As difficult as it may be it is very important for us to keep our eyes fixed on God.
Focus.
Comparisons will come, but focus.
Competition will come, but focus.
The enemy will try to plant seeds of envy in you, do not allow the enemy to make you lose focus.
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”Jeremiah 29:11
To give you a good future, and a hope.
For each and everyone of us, God has said something good concerning our lives, and He has promised us a good future.
I believe that God has spoken to many of us about our future, but because of all that is going on around us we are afraid to step into it.
I challenge myself, and I challenge you to listen to God.
It’s difficult at times I know, because at times what the Lord tells you to do requires some crazy amount of faith, but brethren whose account will you believe?
Who really does have the final say in your life?
God does.
Jeremiah 29:11 that’s the scripture I encourage us all to not forget.
God knows, the creator of heaven and earth, the creator of you knows your future.
We must learn to trust Him with our future.
Going back to the scripture:
““And the patriarchs, becoming envious, sold Joseph into Egypt. But God was with him”
Acts 7:9
Envy tries to distort destines with the intention of destroying them.
God revealed Joseph’s destiny to him, and the enemy tried to distort it to discourage Joseph from believing it, so that he would never live it.
The enemy has tried these same tactics with far too many believers nowadays, we just want to follow the crowd.
It easier, and a much more comfortable position to follow the crowd.
Most believers just want to follow the crowd, because the enemy hates those who are filled with God’s vision,
and the enemy literally tries EVERYTHING to keep us out of God’s perfect will, he will make the littlest things seem so big, and David went through a lot before he became king.
David went through so much that, that would of been enough for him to give up.
I mean the enemy tried it with David, David was told that he would be king long before he actually became king,
In fact David had every right to grow envious of Saul whom God had already left because the promise was now with David, yet he never grew envious instead he learned to wait and yield himself to God’s promises.
Wow.
That faith, that is the kind of faith that we need in this world.
We need faith in order to move forward.
We need to just believe God anyway, and despite of any situation.
Else we will compromise, and just end up living in fear, hoping, and wishing, comparing, and envying.
That is not God’s perfect will for us.
Else we will compromise, and just end up living in fear, hoping, and wishing, comparing, and envying.
That is not God’s perfect will for us.
The enemy will try to discourage you so much when God reveals His purpose to you.
Do you know that we must pray more for new believers?
When someone just gets saved, they have sooooo much zeal for Christ and so much fire for Him,
but there will come a time where the enemy will try to discourage this new believer with the aim of quenching the fire.
Heaven rejoices when an unbeliever gives their life to Christ, but hell rages and they seek to destroy.
That is why we as the church, we must intercede more for the new believer.
I have seen it far so many times now whereby a new believer suddenly becomes an unbeliever just like that, and it is so very disheartening.
I have seen it far so many times now whereby a new believer suddenly becomes an unbeliever just like that, and it is so very disheartening.
Everything with satan is very easy, and when it is very easy to get into something it is often very difficult to get out of it.
Be Not DECEIVED.
Envy, that’s deception.
Oh when someone is envious all they see are lies, and they begin to live in it.
It’s almost impossible to see truth when one is envious.
What we need is love.
Love is the very centre, focus, and core of Christianity.
What we need is love.
No matter what the enemy tries to say, it will never be enough to distort our focus on the promises of God.
Brethren, The Lord says that we should be encouraged, and that we should encourage each other more in love.
God knows it is not easy, but He promises that like Joseph he will never leave us.
God is urging us to love one another as He has loved us.
God is urging us to love one another as He has loved us.
God’s chosen are few, it is because those that are chosen will face many trials.
God’s chosen few will face many trials but they will encounter many tribulations.
God’s chosen few understand the principles of waiting, discerning, and listening.
God’s chosen few are bold, and wise.
God’s chosen few are focused, they put their trust in God alone.
What is The Lord saying to you, what has He revealed to you, and when will you decide to walk in it?
Now is the time.
Say no to compromise.
Learn to wait.
Remember His promises.
If He did it before then He shall surely do it again.
Brethren, listen to God.
Close the doors of your mind and ears to envy, comparing, and fear.
But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast and be false to the truth.
James 3:14
For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there.
James 3:16
You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask.
James 4:2
You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures.
James 4:3
A tranquil heart gives life to the flesh, but envy makes the bones rot.
Proverbs 14:30
“Again, I saw that for all toil and every skillful work a man is envied by his neighbor.
This also is vanity and grasping for the wind.”
Ecclesiastes 4:4
“The fool folds his hands And consumes his own flesh.”
Ecclesiastes 4:5
Better a handful with quietness Than both hands full, together with toil and grasping for the wind.”
Ecclesiastes 4:6
“Then I returned, and I saw vanity under the sun:”
Ecclesiastes 4:7
“There is one alone, without companion: He has neither son nor brother. Yet there is no end to all his labors,
Nor is his eye satisfied with riches. But he never asks, “For whom do I toil and deprive myself of good?”
this also is vanity and a grave misfortune.”
Ecclesiastes 4:8
“Vanity of vanities,” says the Preacher; “Vanity of vanities, all is vanity.”
Ecclesiastes 1:2
Well said 🙏🏽👏🏽
“Love is the very centre, focus, and core of Christianity.
What we need is love.
No matter what the enemy tries to say, it will never be enough to distort our focus on the promises of God.”
