So all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years; and he died. Genesis‬ ‭5‬:‭5‬

If we read the book of genesis chapter five then we will notice three very interesting things.
One being that the children of God lived very long lives, two that God loves those that walk in righteousness, and three that it is very important to dedicate children unto The Lord.

Imagine living to 930 years, and Adams was not the only one mentioned in this scripture to have lived for many years.
Just think about that 930 years!
That sounds outrageous especially in our day and age, not only were they living for many years, but they also bore children in years that may not seem possible for us to believe now.

Which goes on to make me understand why God asked Sarah why she laughed when He told her that she would bear a son, at a age which Sarah believed was old.
Sarah was still very beautiful even though she believed was too old to conceive.
The longest age one is expected to live for in this day and age is 100, and that is not even expected, that is rare.

So why aren’t God’s children living as long as those mentioned in Genesis 5.
Well first of all believers must understand that there is nothing at all strange about living beyond one hundred, after all God promised us long life, He promised us eternity.
It was sin that shortened the length of our days.
That’s why you’ll notice as you go through the bible that the years of His children decrease.
However, Jesus came to destroy the curse of death.
So although we die and go to the grave, like Jesus we will arise and live.

That’s why I can boldly say life without Christ is hopeless.
What’s the point of living to die?
What’s the point of saying after this life that’s it?
So why am I living then?
What’s the point?
This life is so temporary as it is already, it’s so fast, it’s like a midst, a vapour.
The world craves and searches for long life, but they can only find long life through CHRIST.
Reject JESUS CHRIST and you are rejecting LONG LIFE.
He has promised us more than 100 years, He has promised us even more than 930 years, He has promised us eternity.

It’s important to dedicate children to The Lord.

28 Lamech lived one hundred and eighty-two years, and had a son. Genesis‬ ‭5‬:‭28‬

29 And he called his name Noah, saying, “This one will comfort us concerning our work and the toil of our hands, because of the ground which the LORD has cursed.” Genesis‬ ‭5‬:‭29‬

And it came to pass.
Words are very powerful.
Lets bless our children, and not curse them for children are gifts from God.
Our beginning is very important as it affects our end.
Lets start our beginning well, let’s start with God.
He knew you before you were formed in your mother’s womb, the fact that He knew you, and formed you, is enough for you to be dedicated to God.

I belong to You. ❤️🙌

God loves true worshippers, and true worshippers walk in righteousness.
He will cover you, once you walk within His truth.

Enoch, he is a living testimony of this.
We don’t know much about Enoch but from the little we know we understand that he walked in the ways of The Lord, and because he did so we do not see anywhere in this scripture that he died.

24 And Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him. Genesis‬ ‭5‬:‭24‬

Most of the names mentioned in this scripture we see, and he died but not Enoch.
This just reiterates how the curse of sin brings forth death, but blessed is the man who walks in righteousness he is promised long life.

Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; Psalms‬ ‭1‬:‭1‬

For the LORD knows the way of the righteous, But the way of the ungodly shall perish. Psalms‬ ‭1‬:‭6‬

There is no death in Christ Jesus, but life, and life in abundance.

Now it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born to them, Genesis 6:1
that the sons of God saw the daughters of men, that they were beautiful;and they took wives for themselves of all whom they chose.Genesis 6:2
And the LORD said, “My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, for he is indeed flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.” Genesis 6:3
So the LORD said, “I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping thing and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them.” Genesis 6:7
But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD. Genesis 6:8
This is the genealogy of Noah. Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God. Genesis 6:9
And God said to Noah, “The end of all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled with violence through them; and behold, I will destroy them with the earth. Genesis 6:13
Make yourself an ark of gopherwood; make rooms in the ark, and cover it inside and outside with pitch. Genesis 6:14

Genesis 5:28 proves the importance of dedicating children.
Lamech called his son Noah, and he declared that his son shall bring comfort.
Noah found favour in the sight of God, may we find favour in the sight of God like Noah did in the day of reckoning.

There is something associated with your name.
Noah’s name was associated with the ark, and when he built the ark the latter rain was released, and a covenant was fulfilled.
Noah obeyed instruction, he created despite how impossible his creation seemed to man, he still persevered and trusted God.
Despite how foolish Noah’s creation seemed to man he still continued working on God’s great plan.

Noah continued to walk in righteousness.
They that walk in righteousness shall find favour.

There is something attached to your name.
There is a purpose that you must fulfil.
There is something that God waits on you to fulfil.
There is much importance and value to what you create.
Never despise God’s perfect plan.
Something is attached to your name, and you must discover it for we are in the last days.
Time waits for no one.

Imagine if Noah spent a lot of time procrastinating on what God had told him to do, he would’ve missed it.
He would’ve died, the purpose would’ve died, if he had not obeyed God and not created the ark.
Disobedience and procrastination are weapons the enemy uses against the children of God.
We must obey, and we must fulfil according to God’s perfect will.

There is something associated with your name.
In Noah’s case it was the ark, and till this day we never forget about Noah and the ark.
When we obey God, then we are never forgotten.
Our name is always remembered.
That’s favour.
Your name must be attached to God’s perfect will.
There is something associated with your name, there is a purpose associated with your name, and that purpose must be your legacy.

When your name leaves a legacy, that is when your purpose is fulfilled.
Dedicate your children.
Obey God.
Walk in righteousness.
Create that which He has instructed you to do, do not give up, and you shall be favoured.
There is something associated with your name unravel it, and release the latter rain.

Commit your works to the LORD, And your thoughts will be established. Proverbs‬ ‭16‬:‭3‬

Trust in the LORD, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. Psalms‬ ‭37‬:‭3‬
Delight yourself also in the LORD, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. Psalms‬ ‭37‬:‭4‬
Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass. Psalms‬ ‭37‬:‭5‬
He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, And your justice as the noonday. Psalms‬ ‭37‬:‭6‬
Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass. Psalms‬ ‭37‬:‭7‬
For evildoers shall be cut off; But those who wait on the LORD, They shall inherit the earth. Psalms‬ ‭37‬:‭9❤️🙏
