So today The Holy Spirit prompted me to share my testimony with my family.
He said I must first share it with them before I share it anyone else.
I believe He will lead me on what to do next.
I just trust Him, I live for Him, and so I just have to obey Him.
Though it was not easy I just obeyed Him and I believe it is definitely worth it, and so I am going to share a Word that I have shared in the past but I never placed it in DaFruits.
The story of Gideon definitely encouraged me to do what The Lord told me to do.
That same night the Lord said to him, “Take the second bull from your father’s herd, the one seven years old. Tear down your father’s altar to Baal and cut down the Asherah pole beside it. Judges 6:25
Then build a proper kind of altar to the Lord your God on the top of this height. Using the wood of the Asherah pole that you cut down, offer the second bull as a burnt offering.” Judges 6:26
So Gideon took ten of his servants and did as the Lord told him. But because he was afraid of his family and the townspeople, he did it at night rather than in the daytime. Judges 6:27
Imagine The Lord asking you to destroy something evil that belonged to a close relative, it’s definitely not an easy thing to do, however doing the right thing is not always an easy thing to do. Sometimes doing the right thing causes controversy, and sometimes The Lord challenges us to do things that are uncomfortable.
The Lord understands you, He understands your current situation. It’s amazing that The Lord understands each and everyone of us. He knows each and everyone of our strengths and our weaknesses, and He does not expect us to get it right all the time. The Lord is our helper, and He wants us to call out to Him in our time of need.
Gideon seen as a ‘Mighty Warrior’ in the eyes of The Lord was afraid, and this was not the first time that he was.
During that night the Lord said to Gideon, “Get up, go down against the camp, because I am going to give it into your hands. Judges 7:9
If you are afraid to attack, go down to the camp with your servant Purah Judges 7:10
and listen to what they are saying. Afterward, you will be encouraged to attack the camp.” So he and Purah his servant went down to the outposts of the camp. Judges 7:11
The first thing that The Lord done was to reassure Gideon of what He would do, and the second thing The Lord done was to encourage Gideon by providing a solution in his time of need. What The Lord did not do is get angry, instead The Lord simply encouraged Gideon to carry out His will.
Our God is a God of love, and love is patient.
The Lord understands that it’s not easy, and He is not angry at you for feeling hesitant, fearful, or worried. You are bound to feel like all of those things sometimes, especially in this day and age. Even the greatest people in the bible experienced such feelings, so don’t believe anyone who ever says they never have been or they never are afraid such people are liars.
The Lord loves an honest heart, He desires that we pour out our hearts to Him and let Him in. He desires to lift the heavy load, He doesn’t want us to do it all on our own. He wants to reassure you that you are never alone. He wants to reassure you that He will do what He has promised, all He wants you to do is trust Him, listen to Him, obey Him, and follow His lead. Gideon was afraid but he never gave up he just trusted The Lord. The Lord will require you to do things that you may believe are beyond you, and that in itself is scary but that is why The Lord is here to help. The Lord sees a ‘Mighty Warrior’ and you will witness what He sees if you trust Him. All it takes is faith, nothing more nothing less.
The Lord loves the heart of the humble, and it is the heart of the humble that He will use for His glory. A heart that recognises that they cannot do without Him, and that obeys Him.
The Lord said to Gideon, “You have too many men. I cannot deliver Midian into their hands, or Israel would boast against me, ‘My own strength has saved me.’ Judges 7:2
This is what we still do nowadays.
The Lord brings us to a place of greatness, and when He does the world deceives us into believing that it was by our own strength it’s sad.
We must remember that it is not by our own strength, it’s never about us it’s all about Him. God gave you the strength that you have. Less of me, more of you Lord.
Now announce to the army, ‘Anyone who trembles with fear may turn back and leave Mount Gilead.’ ” So twenty-two thousand men left, while ten thousand remained. Judges 7:3
Wow there were more people afraid than those who were not though The Lord was not interested in that, instead He was more interested in identifying those whose hearts were humble. It’s the humble hearts that The Lord is interested in using. It doesn’t matter how brave you are, how strong you are, if your heart ain’t humble, then The Lord ain’t interested.
But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.” James 4:6
Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up. James 4:10
But the Lord said to Gideon, “There are still too many men. Take them down to the water, and I will thin them out for you there. If I say, ‘This one shall go with you,’ he shall go; but if I say, ‘This one shall not go with you,’ he shall not go.” Judges 7:4
There was still far too many, there needed to be less to showcase the awesome glory of The Lord.
When there is less of you, when there is less of the baggage, when there is less of the world, only when YOU(because God has given us all the freedom of choice) make the decision to let go, and get rid of everything that compromises your faith then you will be able to make room for The Lord, and only then will you encounter more of God, more of His presence.
The Lord said to Gideon, “With the three hundred men that lapped I will save you and give the Midianites into your hands. Let all the others go home.” Judges 7:7
When The Lord uses you as a vessel to display His glory He displays it in an extraordinary way, He displays it in a victorious way, He displays it in a way that your adversaries will know that He is Lord.
When the three hundred trumpets sounded, the Lord caused the men throughout the camp to turn on each other with their swords. The army fled to Beth Shittah toward Zererah as far as the border of Abel Meholah near Tabbath. Judges 7:22
Thank You Lord for Your Word.😊❤
No matter what you do, no matter who you are, no matter where you are, when you call on the great name of The Lord He shall respond.
Midian so impoverished the Israelites that they cried out to the Lord for help. Judges 6:6
When the Israelites cried out to the Lord because of Midian, Judges 6:7
he sent them a prophet, who said, “This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: I brought you up out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. Judges 6:8
You may not be able to see how great you are but The Lord sees, and if you trust Him, He will take you to that place of greatness.
Depend on the most high God to direct you in all that you do.
God will give you the wisdom and the favour to carry out His will, you’ve just got to trust Him and believe.
It doesn’t matter who you are, it doesn’t matter where you come from. When God says “YES!” no one can say “no”.
In all your ways acknowledge The Lord, it’s not by your might nor by your power but by the Spirit says The Lord.
Allow God to complete the great work that He has started in you.
Quit worrying, quit comparing yourself to others. We all have different callings, and God will direct us all in different ways.
Seek God first.
Just rely on God.
God is not going anywhere He is staying right by your side.
God is ready when you are, so get some confidence and get going with what God has called you to do.
No more time wasting, no more procrastinating, just get going with The Lord.
The angel of the Lord came and sat down under the oak in Ophrah that belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, where his son Gideon was threshing wheat in a winepress to keep it from the Midianites. Judges 6:11
When the angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon, he said, “The Lord is with you, mighty warrior.” Judges 6:12
You are great because God is great, and He lives inside you.
“Pardon me, my lord,” Gideon replied, “but if the Lord is with us, why has all this happened to us? Where are all his wonders that our ancestors told us about when they said, ‘Did not the Lord bring us up out of Egypt?’ Judges 6:13
Gideon did not yet understand that The Lord never abandoned the Israelites, rather the Israelites pushed God away with their sin.
All the Israelites needed to do was to cry out to The Lord and repent, and The Lord faithfully responded.
The Lord turned to him and said, “Go in the strength you have and save Israel out of Midian’s hand. Am I not sending you?” Judges 6:14
The Lord sees beyond your current situation. This is the attitude we must also have, this is faith.
When God calls you I am telling you absolutely no one can contend against your calling.
You can’t run away from your calling either lol The Lord will keep reminding you.
The Lord said “go in the strength you have”. Meaning go even at the place that you are right now.
He did not say “first you must work at this place, go to this house, see this person.” No He just simply said “Go”.
Do we really understand faith? Faith so great that we go even if we do not know where we are going to?
Go and when you do have faith, and believe that The Lord will lead you.
The wisdom of God is far above our reasoning, our logic, our understanding.
“Pardon me, my lord,” Gideon replied, “but how can I save Israel? Judges 6:15
My clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my family.”Judges 6:15
Yet Mannaseh happened to be apart of the family tree of Jesus!
The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the Son of David, the Son of Abraham: Matthew 1:1
Hezekiah begot Manasseh, Manasseh begot Amon, and Amon begot Josiah. Matthew 1:10
The Lord is not interested in the amount of degrees you have, or how rich you are. The Lord is not a respecter of persons.
You could be working in KFC The Lord does not care! He sees your heart, He knows you, and what He sees is greatness.
It doesn’t matter what others perceive you as. See yourself the way God sees you.
The Lord answered, “I will be with you, and you will strike down all the Midianites, leaving none alive.” Judges 6:16
Gideon replied, “If now I have found favor in your eyes, give me a sign that it is really you talking to me. Judges 6:17
In the midst of uncertainty, pray and The Lord will reveal truth. God is not a God of confusion.
Please do not go away until I come back and bring my offering and set it before you.” Judges 6:18
Isn’t it amazing that we serve a living God who answers, who responds!
Gideon went inside, prepared a young goat, and from an ephah of flour he made bread without yeast.
Putting the meat in a basket and its broth in a pot, he brought them out and offered them to him under the oak. Judges 6:19
The angel of God said to him, “Take the meat and the unleavened bread, place them on this rock, and pour out the broth.” And Gideon did so. Judges 6:20
When we obey the voice of The Holy Spirit then The Holy Spirit will reveal the truth of The Lord.
Then the angel of the Lord touched the meat and the unleavened bread with the tip of the staff that was in his hand. Fire flared from the rock, consuming the meat and the bread. And the angel of the Lord disappeared. Judges 6:21
The Lord will elevate you by exercising your faith.
That same night the Lord said to him, “Take the second bull from your father’s herd, the one seven years old. Tear down your father’s altar to Baal and cut down the Asherah pole beside it. Judges 6:25
In the morning when the people of the town got up, there was Baal’s altar, demolished, with the Asherah pole beside it cut down and the second bull sacrificed on the newly built altar! Judges 6:28
So because Gideon broke down Baal’s altar, they gave him the name Jerub-Baal that day, saying, “Let Baal contend with him.” Judges 6:32
So you see now why God called Gideon a “Mighty Warrior”, no one can withstand the power of The Lord.
The Lord will contend with those who contend against you. Do not fear for The Lord is with you.
When you activate your faith, The Lord will not only move you into greatness but He will also transform you into greatness.
Lord I thank you for your unmerited favour, and for Your Word!
