1 Kings 13.❤

The Word for today is about the altar of The Lord. To me the altar of The Lord represents His Word, He reveals to redeem. His altar is holy, a place of refuge and strength. At His altar(The Word of The Lord) we fellowship and communion with The Lord, and His Spirit consumes us.
The altar of The Lord eradicates all flesh making room for the Holy Spirit which leads us, His children.
We make room for The Lord by obeying His Word, and when we obey His Word He releases the fullness of His Spirit upon His children, and when He releases the fullness of His Spirit upon us His children then He leads us, and reveals His truth to us.

And behold, a man of God went from Judah to Bethel by the word of the Lord, and Jeroboam stood by the altar to burn incense. I Kings 13:1

Then he cried out against the altar by the word of the Lord, and said, “O altar, altar! Thus says the Lord : ‘Behold, a child, Josiah by name, shall be born to the house of David; and on you he shall sacrifice the priests of the high places who burn incense on you, and men’s bones shall be burned on you.’ ” I Kings 13:2

And he gave a sign the same day, saying, “This is the sign which the Lord has spoken: Surely the altar shall split apart, and the ashes on it shall be poured out.” I Kings 13:3

However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. John 16:13

However, there was a man called Jeroboam who did not understand the altar of The Lord, neither did he reverently fear the altar of The Lord.
Jeroboam spoke against, blasphemed against the altar of The Lord. Unlike the man of God Jeroboam spoke according to his flesh and not according to the Word of The Lord.

for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. II Peter 1:21

Unlike the man of God Jeroboam spoke at his appointed time instead of God’s appointed time, and because of this there were consequences.

So it came to pass when King Jeroboam heard the saying of the man of God, who cried out against the altar in Bethel, that he stretched out his hand from the altar, saying, “Arrest him!” Then his hand, which he stretched out toward him, withered, so that he could not pull it back to himself. I Kings 13:4

There is nothing more that the enemy loves than to interrupt the flow of the Holy Spirit.

When Jesus says “Yes” no one can say “no”.
Whoever speaks against the altar of The Lord puts a curse upon himself, and will witness the wrath of The Lord.
Jesus’s own people blasphemed against Him!

But when His own people heard about this, they went out to lay hold of Him, for they said, “He is out of His mind.” Mark 3:21

And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem said, “He has Beelzebub,” and, “By the ruler of the demons He casts out demons.” Mark 3:22

“Assuredly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they may utter; Mark 3:28

but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is subject to eternal condemnation” — Mark 3:29

because they said, “He has an unclean spirit.” Mark 3:30

God has the power to transform a blasphemy into testimony .
Those that speak or have spoken against the altar of The Lord shall surely testify of His greatness!

Then the king answered and said to the man of God, “Please entreat the favor of the Lord your God, and pray for me, that my hand may be restored to me.” So the man of God entreated the Lord, and the king’s hand was restored to him, and became as before. I Kings 13:6

Jeroboam the man that wanted to arrest the man of God is now begging the man of God to pray for Him!
If the scribes did not repent for blaspheming against the Living Word Jesus Christ they to would have been begging the same Jesus to have mercy on them in the eternal lake of fire!
Can you see how our God works?
He is so amazing!
He is the only one who is able to change the hearts of man.

Then the king said to the man of God, “Come home with me and refresh yourself, and I will give you a reward.” I Kings 13:7

But the man of God said to the king, “If you were to give me half your house, I would not go in with you; nor would I eat bread nor drink water in this place. I Kings 13:8

For so it was commanded me by the word of the Lord, saying, ‘You shall not eat bread, nor drink water, nor return by the same way you came.’ ” I Kings 13:9

So he went another way and did not return by the way he came to Bethel. I Kings 13:10

So why didn’t the man of God accept the reward of Jeroboam, after all he had just healed him didn’t he?
No!
The man of God did not heal Jeroboam, God did!
Therefore the man of God was right to reject the reward of Jeroboam.
All the glory belongs to The Lord and not to man.
It is important that we remember to give God the glory at all times!
We must testify that it is not by our might nor is it by our power but by the Spirit of the living God!

If we are followers of The Lord then He requires that we go His way, and return His way.
When we choose to go every other way besides His way then we choose to disobey Him, we choose the flesh over His Spirit, we choose death instead of life and sadly this is what happened to the man of God.

Now an old prophet dwelt in Bethel, and his sons came and told him all the works that the man of God had done that day in Bethel; they also told their father the words which he had spoken to the king. I Kings 13:11

And their father said to them, “Which way did he go?” For his sons had seen which way the man of God went who came from Judah. I Kings 13:12

Then he said to his sons, “Saddle the donkey for me.” So they saddled the donkey for him; and he rode on it, I Kings 13:13

and went after the man of God, and found him sitting under an oak. Then he said to him, “ Are you the man of God who came from Judah?” And he said, “I am. ” I Kings 13:14

Then he said to him, “Come home with me and eat bread.” I Kings 13:15

And he said, “I cannot return with you nor go in with you; neither can I eat bread nor drink water with you in this place. I Kings 13:16

For I have been told by the word of the Lord, ‘You shall not eat bread nor drink water there, nor return by going the way you came.’ ” I Kings 13:17

He said to him, “I too am a prophet as you are, and an angel spoke to me by the word of the Lord, saying, ‘Bring him back with you to your house, that he may eat bread and drink water.’ ” (He was lying to him.) I Kings 13:18

So he went back with him, and ate bread in his house, and drank water. I Kings 13:19

Now it happened, as they sat at the table, that the word of the Lord came to the prophet who had brought him back; I Kings 13:20

and he cried out to the man of God who came from Judah, saying, “Thus says the Lord : ‘Because you have disobeyed the word of the Lord, and have not kept the commandment which the Lord your God commanded you, I Kings 13:21

but you came back, ate bread, and drank water in the place of which the Lord said to you, “Eat no bread and drink no water,” your corpse shall not come to the tomb of your fathers.’ ” I Kings 13:22

So it was, after he had eaten bread and after he had drunk, that he saddled the donkey for him, the prophet whom he had brought back. I Kings 13:23

When he was gone, a lion met him on the road and killed him. And his corpse was thrown on the road, and the donkey stood by it. The lion also stood by the corpse. I Kings 13:24

Now initially when I read the last few chapters about the downfall of the man of God I did not understand what he had done wrong.
I mean I understood that he had disobeyed The Lord but I did not understand why the punishment was so harsh.
After all he had only just inhabited the home of another man of God right, and he ate with him what was the harm in that?
When I reread the scripture The Lord revealed what the harm in that was lol.

The Lord instructed the man of God to go His way and not to the way of anyone else, and when he did God transformed the heart of Jeroboam.
However, when the man of God went his own way, he satisfied his flesh and not God, the hearts of man was not being transformed, he put man before God, he disobeyed God, and disobedience is sin.

The fame of the man of God was made known and this costed him his life.
What is fame? Glory.
Who deserves the glory and the honour? God
The fame of this world is deceptive.
The Word of Lord is truth.
This is why we must obey His Word because He will never lead us astray, He leads us not into temptation and delivers us from all evil!

We must remember the altar of The Lord we must start with His altar and we must finish with His altar.
We must not forget who brought us to the place that we are now and why He has brought us to that place. We must remember that it is forever by His Spirit and not by our power nor is it by our might that we are where we are right now.
Our very being exists because of Him.
We breathe life because of Him.
We must Remember, and not be consumed by the fame of this world, else it will cause us to forget His Word.
Why do you think so many celebrities have rejected Christ? It’s because the fame has consumed them and caused them to forget and reject His Word.
The fame has even caused gospel artists and men and women of God to compromise their faith.
The fame has caused gospel artists, men and women of God to collaborate with the world. The world! That God is using us to bring to salvation.

Give  Him glory at all times!
We must repent before His altar in these last days, for Jesus is coming soon!
Forget God and it could cost you eternity.
Put Him first before man.
Go to His altar(The Word of The Lord) and return by His altar.
Do not go by the ways of the world, else you will return by the world and that is not life but death.
Do not go by the ways  in which The Lord has not instructed you to go.
Do not accept the reward of Jeroboam it could cost you your salvation.
It is better to receive the merit of God than the merit of the world.
What is the point of gaining the world only to lose your soul?

Put His Word first, put His kingdom first.
We must repent before His altar in these last days, for Jesus is coming soon!
Food, drink, The Lord is able to provide.
What can the world offer you that The Lord cannot provide ten times over?!
It is all about God. This life. Us. Everything that we do, it is all about GOD.

Do not go by the way that you think is right, you are not God.
God saves, God convicts we are only vessels in which He uses.
Do not collaborate with the secular, the secular is the world, to collaborate with the world is to compromise your faith.
Compromised faith is the gateway to hell.
Let the aim be Jesus, let the aim be His altar.
Go by His Word.❤

The world deceives many into believing that if they live for Christ they are missing out on life. Lies!!!
There is no life without Christ.
What we breathe on this earth is nothing but temporary air.
Everything about this world is temporary, He said it will all fade away but His Word will forever remain the same.
Everything about this world is temporary, He said it will all fade away but His Word will forever remain the same.

Why reject such a loving God?!
Repent! Get back on track!
Run back to His altar! Run back to Jesus our first love, and finish the race for His glory!❤
