II Samuel 23❤. II Samuel 24.❤
1 Kings 1.❤

I have finally been able to finish the book of Samuel, I should’ve really finished it a while back lol. I pray that I will be more persistent with the following books to come. Anyway I’ve learn’t a lot from the book of David and I’m going to summarise what I’ve learnt from the final two chapters including the book which I’ve just about started reading 1 Kings! 😀

David, a man after God’s own heart because He understood that it was not by His might nor by His power but by the Spirit of The Lord that he was in the position that he was in.

Now these are the last words of David. Thus says David the son of Jesse; Thus says the man raised up on high, The anointed of the God of Jacob, And the sweet psalmist of Israel: II Samuel 23:1

“The Spirit of the Lord spoke by me, And His word was on my tongue. II Samuel 23:2❤

David, a man after God’s own heart because he understood true worship, he knew how to give reverence to the presence of The Lord no matter what situation he found himself in and because of this The Lord elevated David, He raised David up from a shepherd boy to a great king of Israel. God will elevate you and I once we allow His spirit to lead us.

David, following his flesh caused him to murder and commit adultery which brought him down from where the Spirit of The Lord had brought him, and nearly destroyed him but God being merciful abided with David because he had a true and honest repentant heart.

It also proves and shows that we serve a compassionate God, whom will not allow the sun to smite us by day nor the moon by night for He shall preserve our soul forever more.

And when the angel stretched out His hand over Jerusalem to destroy it, the Lord relented from the destruction, and said to the angel who was destroying the people, “It is enough; now restrain your hand.” And the angel of the Lord was by the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite. II Samuel 24:16

There is a fruit of the Spirit of The Lord called ‘long suffering’ and it is within this season that we are tested, and the enemy will seek to destroy us. It is as my pastor described last week Sunday the trial of our faith. However there will come a time or a day when The Lord will intervene in this trial or season and say as He did to the angel of The Lord “It is enough; now restrain your hand.”

David, a man after God’s own heart because he understands the true meaning of repentance. A man like you and I, likely to make mistakes, but understood the importance of the presence of God, he was willing to repent and worship The Lord regardless of the shame or the pain. David a man after God’s own heart because he understood that it was not about self and if it was about self then he would be missing out on the presence of God.

Then David spoke to the Lord when he saw the angel who was striking the people, and said, “Surely I have sinned, and I have done wickedly; but these sheep, what have they done? Let Your hand, I pray, be against me and against my father’s house.” II Samuel 24:17

Where would I be You only know.
I’m glad You see through eyes of love.
A hopeless case an empty place if not for grace.❤

Amazing grace how sweet the sound.
I once was lost but now I’m found.
A hopeless case am empty place if not for grace. ❤

When we sin we take a step backwards when we overcome sin we progress in The Lord, we move forward and closer to where He intend us to be. It cost Jesus His life to save and free you and I from sin.
Does it cost you and I anything to save ourselves? No, because the price has already been paid.

Then the king said to Araunah, “No, but I will surely buy it from you for a price; nor will I offer burnt offerings to the Lord my God with that which costs me nothing.” So David bought the threshing floor and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver. II Samuel 24:24

Jesus has already paid the price.
However, it will cost you and I something to stay in line with the word of God which you could say is apart of the fruit of the Holy Spirit long suffering. Yes, because we have to be willing to let go of the things that will draw us away from His presence, and lead us to hell.
What will it cost you and I? A repentant heart, a heart of worship, and a prayerful heart. It doesn’t sound like much really and it definitely does not compare to the price that Jesus paid. Therefore lets keep praying without ceasing, repenting without ceasing, and worshipping without ceasing, for the steadfast love of The Lord never ceases!

And David built there an altar to the Lord, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. So the Lord heeded the prayers for the land, and the plague was withdrawn from Israel. II Samuel 24:25

A heart of worship, repentance, and prayer removes the plague of sin that the enemy wishes to destroy and consume us with.

David, is the perfect example of what it is to offer true praises from our heart and how to give true praises from our heart, and this is something that I pray to do more of also. I want to move into a new dimension of worship where the earth will split with the mighty sound of the children of The Lord!

And all the people went up after him; and the people played the flutes and rejoiced with great joy, so that the earth seemed to split with their sound. I Kings 1:40

Glory be to The Lord for His Word.❤
