Good morning everyone and I pray you all had a lovely bank holiday. For most of last month and this month the deep mysterious word life has been on my heart. I know for many life living on this earth…and that’s it, but too me and many believers especially life is precious, it’s special, life is a gift.
Let us look at some definitions of life.
- The condition that distinguishes animals and plants from inorganic matter, including the capacity for growth, reproduction, functional activity, and continual change preceding death. “the origins of life”
- The existence of an individual human being or animal.
- The period between the birth and death of a living thing, especially a human being.
From all the definitions of life the words that have stuck to me the most are reproduction, growth death, existence and birth.
Let’s take it back to the beginning where it all started.
âIn the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.â Genesis 1:1
âThe earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.â Genesis 1:2
As we read further into the first chapter of Genesis we see that God creates the sky, he creates the earth and then he speaks life into the sky and into the earth thus creating creatures to fill them both.
In Genesis 1:22 God emphasises that to be able to reproduce, be fruitful and multiply is a blessing within itself. However it is not until Genesis 1:26-27 that God says something about life that is just so spectacular!
âThen God said, âLet Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.ââ Genesis 1:26
âSo God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.â
Genesis 1:27Â
God said “Let Us make man in Our image.”
And in this same verse God also states that both man and female were created and in the later verses He blesses them emphasising of growth, multiplication and fruitfulness. However let’s look at the first words in Genesis 1:26 where God mentions Us and Our.
Who is Us and Our and why are these words emphasised with capital letters? Well it’s simply amazingly because God is mentioning two sources who are just as powerful as He is. I’m talking about the blessed trinity, God all by Himself but in the form of three persons Jesus Christ the Son of the Most High God and The Holy Spirit. It’s here that I began to adhere to the mystery of the deep breath of life in the Word of God. We know that God was there from the beginning but some often make the mistake that Jesus only existed in the New Testament in the form of a baby and then as a man but Jesus is so much more! Jesus existed from the very beginning Jesus and the Holy Spirit are just as eternal as God is. Jesus came from heaven to earth, He was prophesied right through from the old and revealed in the new. Jesus died on earth but was always alive and it’s because of the blessed truth that Jesus is alive that those who accept Him as His Lord and personal Saviour and who live to serve Him in Spirit and in Truth have that same benefit of being eternally alive.
It’s no wonder why the bible says in Ephesians 1:3-4 that:
âBlessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,â Ephesians 1:3
âjust as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love,â Ephesians 1:4Â
The bible also says in Jeremiah 1:5 that:
ââBefore I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.ââ Jeremiah 1:5Â
God knew us not just after we were born but He knew us before we were formed in our mothers womb! What a blessed revelation! Which can only therefore be that we are spiritual beings that have come into the form of the flesh in our mother’s womb. It’s no wonder why even when man denies Christ they still call on His Name in moments of tragedies, why? Because whether we choose to accept it or not we have an eternal link with the Heavenly Father. If we were all created before the foundations of the world it means then that we all dwelt with the Heavenly Father, and where does God dwell? He dwells in heaven of course! Let me take you back to Genesis for a quick minute and let’s take a quick look at Genesis 2:7.
âAnd the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.â Genesis 2:7
I find Genesis chapter 1:1-27 and 2:1-7 peculiarly interesting in the fact that it seems as if chapters 1:1-27 happened after 2:1-7 but my thoughts could be wrong. However the reason why I feel this way is because the formation of man is mentioned first in Genesis 2 whereby God breathed the glorious breath of life into Adam and in verse 20-22 God declares that it is not good for a man to be alone and that He would create a helpmate that is comparable to him. All that Adam had at that time were the animals which were not in his likeness. Remember Adam was created in the very image and likeness of God and so therefore God performed the first anaesthetic, He out Adam in a deep sleep, took out a rib from his side and out of that rib the woman was formed.
Genesis 1:1-27 however just states that both male and female He created them. Now either this was a generalisation of the creation of man and female and then further explained in Genesis 2, or Genesis 1 and 2 reiterates how man and woman were wonderful ideas in the magnificent mind of God whom existed before the foundations of the world, and God now formed them just like He stated in Jeremiah 1:5, He knew us before time, inside time, and outside of time. Just like Jesus existed before time, was prophesied in time, revealed in time, living in time, and outside of time! Glory be to God!
I hope and pray that as you are reading through this post you realise that indeed You are of great importance! Here’s a word of encouragement: Never limit how far God will go for you. He can reach way Above and Beyond your horizon. He is Limitless. đđĽđ
God has chosen you for such a time as this! Why is it that some of us were born in the twenty first century and not the seventeen century for example? It’s because God has a purpose and a plan for each and everyone of us. That’s why those that choose to dwell in the flesh are just living in a lie, this world will soon pass away. So many are confused and lost and that is because they do not know Jesus Christ and without knowing Jesus Christ you cannot know yourself. It’s no wonder why Solomon the wisest king on earth talks about the deepness of life in Ecclesiastes. It is true that ‘vanity is upon vanity all is vanity’ all is pointless if whatever we do on earth has nothing to do with Him, because whatever we do on earth should point back to God and that is because our very existence depends on Him.
âDo you know it, because you were born then, Or because the number of your days is great?â Job 38:21
No baby before formed in their mother’s womb decides when they want to be born, I did not tell my mum before I was in her stomach that I wanted to be born in this century, on this day of the monthđ . Yes my mother conceived which is a blessing and the perfect will of God, but it’s only by His grace that I was guaranteed the breath of life. What about babies that are aborted, that are miscarried, that die you best believe they are dwelling with the Father in heaven. Jesus indeed loves the little children.â¤
Now here’s a long winded question.
Because God knew everyone both believers, unbelievers and sinners before we were formed in our mother’s wombs, which also means that we dwelt with the Father, we preexisted with Him before we existed on earth, does that then mean we can dwell again with God even if we do not believe in Jesus whom God Himself said is the only way to get to Him? Does that also then mean we can sin without repenting even though Jesus said the wages of sin is death? I think you and I both know the answer to this long winded question indeed it is no.
If there is no repentance for both the unbeliever and the believer alike then there is no mercy neither is there any forgiveness because Jesus Himself died so that we might live and forgave us of all our sins, therefore we have no right to say that we will not forgive. Adam and Eve were the first humans to sin. Sin is what caused death, separation from God and eternal damnation to hell.God’s Son Jesus Christ is what gave us hope again, hope to go back to where we began again to dwell forever with the Father. You see God knows and knew everyone on this earth even the unbeliever and the sinner but if the unbeliever and the sinner refuses to come back to Him whilst living on earth that God will say these four dreadful words:
‘I Never Knew You.’
May this never be our portion in Jesus Name. May God have mercy upon our souls and because of the Blood of Jesus that speaks better things than the Blood of Abel. May His Blood wash us and cleanse us of our sins and may His grace be with us.  Amen.đ A few days ago I was talking with my sister and I said you know people talk of purgatory and though that particular word is not in the bible I do believe the earth is like a purgatory because it is like a separation, a deciding place, a place of trial and error, a place of second chances before we reach the place of judgement which is either heaven or in hell. There are indeed three heavens. I used to think there was only one heaven but in the beginning God does not mention the singular heaven in Genesis 2 but the plural heavens meaning that there is more than one and this is reiterated in Hebrews 4:14.
The first heaven is the firmament the sky. (Genesis 6:7, Matthew 6:26 and James 5:18)
The second heaven is outer space. (Matthew 24:29, Deuteronomy 4:19 )
Be careful of celestial worship, astronomy worship such as star signs, and all other forms of worship of the sun, the moon and the stars it is not of God.
The third heaven is where God dwells it is the home of God. Here is how the bible describes the Heavenly place where God dwells. (2 Corinthians 12:2, Deuteronomy 10:14, psalm 148:4, 1 Kings 8:27, Hebrews 8:1, Acts 7:55, Hebrews 9:24, 2 Corinthians 5:1-8).
The deepness of the breath of life is what God revealed to Moses whom write the first five books of the bible, it’s no wonder then that although Moses sinned because of the close relationship that Moses had with God, God Himself buried Moses and indeed Moses was there alongside Elijah during the transfiguration of Jesus Christ the Son of God. It’s the faith, the power, and the righteousness of God that were demonstrated in the lives of  Elijah and Enoch whom did not die but wee just taken by God to heaven! They were living proofs that just like Jesus we also will one day be taken in the last days and dwell forever with our Father in heaven. Let’s not forget John whom the Romans could not kill and so they left him stranded on the Island of Patmos where God revealed the greatest revelation of the kingdom of God! Noah’s Ark and the flood demonstrates the preservation of life for the righteous and the destruction of iniquity, God hates the wicked and does not dwell iniquity. That is why hell was created for the devil and demons to dwell in and was not a place created for humans, but those that choose to follow satan will surely dwell there.
Finally, the deepness of life is what God reveals to Job a righteous man who asked God for permission to challenge Job’s faith in God. Job lost everything but he stood the test of time and indeed God brought forth restoration when Job repented and even the righteous must repent let that be a lesson to you. Before God restored Job He revealed the deepness breath of life from Job 38-41.
I have shared some verses but not all but I do urge you if you want to understand the deepness of life to please read the book of Job, Jeremiah and Daniel.
ââWhere were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding.â Job 38:4
âWho determined its measurements? Surely you know! Or who stretched the line upon it?â  âTo what were its foundations fastened? Or who laid its cornerstone,â Job 38:6Â
ââHave you commanded the morning since your days began, And caused the dawn to know its place,â Job 38:12
âHave the gates of death been revealed to you? Or have you seen the doors of the shadow of death?â Job 38:17
âHave you comprehended the breadth of the earth? Tell Me, if you know all this.â Job 38:18
ââWhere is the way to the dwelling of light? And darkness, where is its place,â Job 38:19
âThat you may take it to its territory, That you may know the paths to its home?â Job 38:20
âDo you know it, because you were born then, Or because the number of your days is great?â Job 38:21
Who provides food for the raven, When its young ones cry to God, And wander about for lack of food?â Job 38:41Â
âFrom whose womb comes the ice? And the frost of heaven, who gives it birth?â Job 38:29
ââCan you bind the cluster of the Pleiades, Or loose the belt of Orion?â Job 38:31
âDo you know the ordinances of the heavens? Can you set their dominion over the earth?â Job 38:33Â
âWho has put wisdom in the mind? Or who has given understanding to the heart?â Job 38:36Â
âWho can number the clouds by wisdom? Or who can pour out the bottles of heaven,âJob 38:37Â
This world is not my home
I’m just a passing through
My treasures are laid up somewhere beyond the blue
The angels beckon me
from heaven’s open door
And I can’t feel at home in this world anymore
Oh lord you know
I have no friend like you
If heaven’s not my home
then lord what will I do
The angels beckon me
from heaven’s open door
And I can’t feel at home in this world anymore.đđ
I pray you were blessed by this post and thanks for reading. Indeed we serve a God who is the Ancient of Days.đâşâ¤đ
