I shared this Word last year September and I have been prompted by the Holy Spirit to share this Word again, as He has revealed more.
It’s one of my favourite revelations from The Lord, because I always desire for more of His fire, more of His presence.
And the fire upon the altar shall be kept burning on it; it shall not be allowed to go out. The priest shall burn wood on it every morning and lay the burnt offering in order upon it and he shall burn on it the fat of the peace offerings. Leviticus 6:12
The fire shall be burning continually upon the altar; it shall not go out. Leviticus 6:13
I pray that our hearts shall continually be on fire for The Lord.
There’s One thing that I never want to lose and that’s the fire that I have in my heart for Christ.
It’s important that I guard my heart.
To guard your heart is to protect your honour, your anointing, your calling.
It’s important that I’m careful of what I allow into my heart.
It’s very important because I do not want this fire to cease.
If we look at the scripture again it says that the priest shall burn wood on it every morning.
That means if we continue to worship The Lord if we continue to give Him reverence the fire shall never go out.
God will never put out the fire in our hearts. However, if we do not put in the work to keep the fire burning it will go out. If we want to keep the fire burning in our hearts we must pay attention to The Holy Spirit. We must spend time with God.
Spending time with God is the most amazing encounter that one could ever experience.
The more time we spend with The Lord, the more we will witness the wonderful presence of The Lord. The more we experience His presence, the more our hearts are renewed.
Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right, persevering, and steadfast spirit within me. Psalm 51:10
It is when we experience more of His presence that the fire within our hearts will never go out.
It is when we experience more of His presence that we are transformed into His very likeness.
We must humbly lay our hearts on the altar before The Lord, and like a surgeon God will surgically remove all that is not of Him.
By laying our hearts on the altar before The Lord, we are being open, we are saying here we are Lord, we are ready use us.
By laying our hearts on the altar before The Lord we are being honest, we are not trying to hide anything.
We are being honest with the way we feel, we are being open with our struggles, our weaknesses, our sins, our fleshly desires, we are honest about everything that acts as a hindrance to developing that close relationship with Christ.
From my own personal walk with The Lord I can say that it hasn’t always been easy laying my heart at the altar of The Lord, and that’s because at times I have not totally surrendered my heart to Him.
At times I’ve wanted to do things my own way.
At times I’ve grown impatient instead of waiting upon The Lord.
At times I’ve compromised because I haven’t put my total trust in The Lord.
At times I’ve placed others or things before The Lord without even acknowledging Him.
When we put ourselves, when we put our fleshly desires before The Lord, our walk with Him becomes a struggle, we grow faint and weary.
It is His fire that causes us to have a tenacious spirit, it’s His fire that causes us mount up with wings like eagles.
To get that fire we have got to learn to die to self daily.
To get that fire we have got to learn to trust Him more.
To get that fire we have got to learn to wait on The Lord, for His timing is always perfect.
Wow that Word was for me I need to repeat that!
To get that fire, for His fire to continually burn within my heart, for His Spirit to continually resonate within my heart, I have got to learn to wait on The Lord, for in His time He makes all things perfect, beautiful, He makes all things new.
When we lay our hearts before The Lord it is an act of total surrender.
We are putting everything at the altar.
We offer Him our lives, we offer Him our will which is true worship the perfect sacrifice.
To sacrifice is not easy but it’s always worth it.
It could be that relationship, it could be that website, it could be that book, it could be that programme.
Whatever it is that is required of us to let go of is never easy but it is always worth it if it means that we can get to the place where He wants us to be, which is the perfect place because it is where He is.
His fire is a process, and in this process He exposes everything that is not of Him.
In this process we come as we are, but we never stay the way we are.
He makes all things new, and the more we go through His fire, the more we move forward.
God cannot work with stubborn hearts, if we do not willingly give our hearts to Him then we cannot expect to receive anything from Him. When we offer our hearts unto God, we accept Jesus into our lives. When we accept Jesus into our lives only then do we receive perfect peace.
And God’s peace [shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7
Don’t give the enemy the opportunity to quench out the fire in your heart. Nothing is impossible to God and of cause He can always bring the fire back into our hearts. However we must be willing to sacrifice the things which do not please Him. If we continue to harbour evil in our hearts then WE quench the fire in our hearts.
If we do not desire to quench out the fire in our hearts, then we must guard our hearts.
Proverbs 4:23 “Above all else, guard your heart for everything you do flows from it.”
The enemy is out to kill, steal, and destroy. If we leave our hearts unguarded we give the enemy the opportunity to steal our attention away from God. Once we give the enemy our attention it becomes easier for him to try many different ways to destroy the fire burning in our hearts for The Lord. If we allow ourselves to get so consumed in our sin, then we pull ourselves further and further away from God. God does not dwell in sin, and so we cannot have a relationship with Him if we desire to satisfy our flesh and not The Spirit.
For if you live according to [the dictates of] the flesh, you will surely die. But if through the power of the [Holy] Spirit you are [habitually] putting to death (making extinct, deadening) the [evil] deeds prompted by the body, you shall [really and genuinely] live forever. Romans 8:13
The more we feed our flesh, the more we will struggle to obey God’s Word.
Now the mind of the flesh [which is sense and reason without the Holy Spirit] is death [death that comprises all the miseries arising from sin, both here and hereafter]. But the mind of the [Holy] Spirit is life and [soul] peace [both now and forever]. (
Romans 8:6
[That is] because the mind of the flesh [with its carnal thoughts and purposes] is hostile to God, for it does not submit itself to God’s Law; indeed it cannot. Romans 8:7
If we lend our hearts to satan, he will not fret in deceiving our hearts with lies. Do not give the enemy the satisfaction of destroying the relationship that you have with God. God is love, God forgives, God makes no records of wrongs. All we need do is repent, and God will remove the pain and the shame, and reignite the fire that we so much desire to be in our hearts.
If My people, who are called by My name, shall humble themselves, pray, seek, crave, and require of necessity My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14
We must not become lazy with our Christian walk. The enemy is not lazy, and is always at work. This is why Jesus said that we must watch and pray.
All of you must keep awake (give strict attention, be cautious and active) and watch and pray, that you may not come into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. Matthew 26:41
This is why The Lord said we must put on the full armour of God.
Put on God’s whole armor [the armor of a heavy-armed soldier which God supplies], that you may be able successfully to stand up against [all] the strategies and the deceits of the devil. Ephesians 6:11
For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the despotisms, against the powers, against [the master spirits who are] the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere. Ephesians 6:12
Therefore put on God’s complete armor, that you may be able to resist and stand your ground on the evil day [of danger], and, having done all [the crisis demands], to stand [firmly in your place]. Ephesians 6:13
Stand therefore [hold your ground], having tightened the belt of truth around your loins and having put on the breastplate of integrity and of moral rectitude and right standing with God, Ephesians 6:14
And having shod your feet in preparation [to face the enemy with the firm-footed stability, the promptness, and the readiness produced by the good news] of the Gospel of peace. [Isa. 52:7.] Ephesians 6:15
Lift up over all the [covering] shield of saving faith, upon which you can quench all the flaming missiles of the wicked [one]. Ephesians 6:16
And take the helmet of salvation and the sword that the Spirit wields, which is the Word of God. Ephesians 6:17
We must continually build our relationship with The Lord through prayer, communion, fellowship, and worship.
Oh lord please light the fire.
That once burned bright and clear.
Replace the lamp of my first love, that burns with holy fear.🔥❤️🙏
I want to take Your Word and shine it all around but first help me, to just live it Lord.
And when I’m doing well, help me to never seek a crown for my reward is giving glory to You.❤️🙌
