DaFruits of walking in the counsel of The Lord.❤

BLESSED (HAPPY, fortunate, prosperous, and enviable) is the man who walks and lives not in the counsel of the ungodly [following their advice, their plans and purposes], nor stands [submissive and inactive] in the path where sinners walk, nor sits down [to relax and rest] where the scornful [and the mockers] gather. Psalm 1:1

The counsel of The Lord is wisdom.

1 Kings 12.
Good morning so it’s the last day of the month we thank God!
As I was reading the bible this morning I kept falling asleep but the Holy Spirit kept prompting me to wake up.
I’m awake now!

Today’s Word is about a  new king on the block called king Rehoboam.
King Rehoboam was the son of king Solomon.
After some time that king Solomon had passed away some elders came to advice the young king Rehoboam.
They did not want what happened with king Solomon to repeat itself.

What happened to king Solomon?
Solomon walked in the ways of The Lord he served The Lord with his whole heart, but a time came where his heart strayed away from The Lord because his heart was with many women, and instead of serving God he began to serve many other gods.

Therefore the elders enquired of the new king Rehoboam.

Your father made our yoke heavy; now therefore lighten the hard service and the heavy yoke your father put upon us, and we will serve you. 1 Kings 12:4

He replied, Go away for three days and then return to me. So the people departed. 1 Kings 12:5

What he does in these three days determines the success of his reign.
Did king Rehoboam pray to God almighty seeking His face for wisdom, like his father once did?
Or did king Rehoboam seek the face of the ungodly?

And King Rehoboam consulted with the old men who stood before Solomon his father while he yet lived and said, How do you advise me to answer this people? 1 Kings 12:6

And they said to him, If you will be a servant to this people today and serve them and answer them with good words, they will be your servants forever. 1 Kings 12:7

But he forsook the counsel the old men gave him and consulted the young men who grew up with him and stood before him. 1 Kings 12:8

King rehoboam forsook the counsel of wisdom for foolishness.
He decided to consult those he was most familiar with, and those that most probably told him what he wanted to hear most of the time.
He chose to seek his selfish desires first before seeking the face of God.
In the three days that should’ve been what king Rehoboam done.
King Rehoboam could have gone a three day fast seeking the face of The Lord giving Him, reverence, and worshipping, and The Lord would have answered his prayer and given him the spirit to discern which advice was best to take but instead he decided to follow his flesh instead of The Lord.

He said to them, What do you advise that we answer this people who have said, Make the yoke your father put on us lighter? 1 Kings 12:9

The young men who grew up with him answered, To the people who told you, Your father made our yoke heavy, but you make it lighter for us–say this, My little finger shall be thicker than my father’s loins. 1 Kings 12:10

And now whereas my father loaded you with a heavy yoke, I will add to your yoke. My father chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions. 1 Kings 12:11

So Jeroboam and all the people came to Rehoboam on the third day, as the king had appointed. 1 Kings 12:12

And the king answered the people roughly and forsook the counsel the old men had given him, 1 Kings 12:13

And spoke to them after the counsel of the young men, saying, My father made your yoke heavy, but I will add to your yoke; he chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions. 1 Kings 12:14

Just look at the foolish evil advice that his friends gave him, this is the consequence of not seeking God first, and often these are the situations that many Christians find ourselves in.

At times we love to seek counsel from those who tell us what we always want to hear, and that is dangerous because it leads us astray from the presence of The Lord.
The Lord often rebukes in love, and the truth hurts otherwise why would The Lord say His Word is sharper than a two edged sword, but it is all in love and it is all for our good.
Nothing good comes from the enemy.
If king Rehoboam had sought the face of The Lord first then everything else would have surely been added unto him just like his father, the wealth, the favour, the blessings, everything but instead he chose to walk in the aftermath of his father and that caused him to draw farther and farther away from The Lord, and in an even darker place.
Whomever is against The Lord is an enemy of The Lord and whomever is for The Lord is a friend of The Lord.
We can’t call ourselves friends of God if we are against Him, it’s just impossible.
We can’t serve both satan and God.

Lately I’ve been seeking advice from professionals to improve on the skills that I have, and I’m telling you some of the advice that I’ve been given has been pretty harsh lol and I tried my best to not get easily offended because I knew it was for my own good.
Sometimes you need just that little bit of harshness to really push yourself beyond boundaries, and into the place that The Lord wants us to be.
It’s impossible to soar above challenges if we are so used to our comfort zones.
Spirit break out, break our walls down!

Ok so back to the word.😊
The choices we make today can affect our tomorrow.
You do not have to be old before you can make wise decisions.
They say wisdom comes with age and that’s true to an extent if it’s based on the wisdom of this world but I believe that wisdom begins with God, and if God is not a respecter of persons then he is not a respecter of age, He grants wisdom to those who seek Him first, who serve Him with their whole hearts, who diligently seek Him.
The world teaches young people to be foolish and old people to wise.
God teaches all His children to be wise both young and old.
We mature in true wisdom through His Word.
The Word is foolishness to the world, the ways of The Lord are foolish to the world it can not be comprehended.
His wisdom supersedes human reasoning, understanding, knowledge.
His wisdom is above all.

The evil, the foolishness that we do today will affect our future.
Because of the evil that Solomon did his children were cursed.

So the king did not hearken to the people, for the situation was from the Lord, that He might fulfill His word which He spoke by Ahijah the Shilonite to Jeroboam son of Nebat. I Kings 11:29-33.

Do not curse your future, do not curse your generation, walk in the ways of The Lord for it is truth, it is light, and it is life.

Again king Rehoboam took counsel from evildoers, with a heart so far away from The Lord he began to serve other gods like his father, and turned the hearts of the Israelites away from The Lord also.

So the king took counsel and made two calves of gold. And he said to the people, It is too much for you to go [all the way] up to Jerusalem. Behold your gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt. 1 Kings 12:28

And this thing became a sin; for the people went to worship each of them even as far as Dan. 1 Kings 12:30

Are you seeking counsel?
Make sure that you seek God first.
Spend time with The Lord seek His face, worship Him, fast, and pray.
The Lord is faithful and just He shall surely answer you, He shall surely meet you at the point of your need.
He will give you the spirit to discern what is wise and what is foolish for He is wisdom.
He will give you the spirit to discern what is evil and what is good for He is good and His mercies endure forever.
He will never lead you astray for He is life.
He will lead you to those that he has filled with Godly wisdom.
Seek God first before fleshy desires.
Give Him your heart, your soul, live for Him alone, and let Him have His way in you.
Seek God first and everything shall be added unto you, including eternal life.
Walk in the light  of The Lord for His Spirit lives to set us free, and He binds us all in unity.❤

For to us a Child is born, to us a Son is given; and the government shall be upon His shoulder, and His name shall be called  Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father [of Eternity], Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6❤
