Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name. Hebrews 13:15
Morning all happy Christmas Eve this morning I just wanted to share a word of encouragement.
True worship is not something that can be rehearsed, true worship is not something that can be imitated.
True worship flows from the heart.
I couldn’t sleep and so I decided to continue reading the story of King David quiet ironically he is a great example of a true worshipper.
So anyway I couldn’t sleep, and I really wanted to because I had the most exhausting shift yesterday lol but I couldn’t.
I prayed, as I was thinking about the way I worship God and the way I would present that worship to others.
A time is coming where I know that The Lord is going to use me to minister through song and teaching of His Word.
Sometimes I feel like if I say that I’m boasting or something and so I’m a bit hesitant to say it.
It’s easier writing it than saying it, but if God said it who am I to stand against His Word?
Ok so back to what I was saying as it’s coming to the end of the year I feel the more the lord is building me up to this great journey ahead and boy the enemy is really trying to discourage me from even stepping into this journey.
The first thing that the enemy is trying to attack is my worship.
Like I said a time is going to come where I am going to minister through song, and the enemy has tried to discourage me by planting seeds of doubt “can you really do it?” “Are you confident enough to minister His Word?” “Are you able to worship like so and so?” “Worship is supposed to be a certain way.” Then the enemy stopped there and I prayed and this is what The Lord said “worship comes from the heart.” He then put a song into my heart Jesus be the centre.
You see Jesus is the centre of our worship.
Since Jesus is the centre of everything it need not be difficult for me to express my love for Him.
I need not imitate my brother or my sister when worshipping because worship flows from my heart to the heavens.
The same goes for teaching His Word.
I look at different preachers and I realise that they all have different ways in which they preach, obviously because they are all from different backgrounds, they do not all speak the same and they most certainly do not all look the same. Their callings are different some God has called to teach on lust whilst others might be prosperity, some on love whilst others on the end times.
I lay in my bed unable to sleep, contemplating whether I should compromise the way I present my worship to others and The Lord simply taught me when it comes to worship you need not even consider compromising, it’s not even something that you must think about, it simply comes naturally because worship flows from the heart He told me and I totally believed and trusted Him and that in itself encouraged me.
I’ve said it before on twitter that I’ve gotten so used to the background, yes when it’s just me and my Lord I am so free with Him, the way in which I worship Him does not even cross my mind I just worship Him.
Well a time is coming where He wants me to present my worship to others, a time is coming where He wants me to minister to others.
He has taught me and is still teaching me about total dependancy on the Holy Spirit, He is teaching me to flow with Him in public and in the secret place.
He has taught me and encouraged me with many different examples through His Word concerning calling His children to do things which they believed were way out of their depth.
He taught me about leadership, seasons, trust, transformation, and how He can use anyone despite their age all of this I have learnt so far through His Word and He hasn’t taught me all this for nothing.
He now expects me to step out boldly in faith and apply into my life all that I have learnt.
You know I used to believe that I would need to wait till I got a little bit older before I do so and so for The Lord but like I said He has provided me with so many examples of the people that He has used for His glory at such a young age.
Not only that the many young people that The Lord is using in our very day and age it is beyond inspiring it is encouraging.
So far I’ve done things that I never thought I could do and it is all because of God.
I completed my degree which I believed I was incapable of doing because of fear, but I eventually trusted in His Word and He faithfully saw me through.
I taught His Word and encouraged others which I believed I was incapable of doing because of fear, but He revealed His perfect will and I have decided to remain within it, despite the enemy trying to discourage me through non believers.
Now The Lord is taking me into another place, into a new season, into a place that exists out of my comfort zone, and you know I am not the first person He has done this to there are many examples in His Word of people that started from the bottom and now they are where God wants them to be because they trusted in His Word and boldly followed His lead, we don’t even just see examples in His Word it is also very evident in the lives of people now. But you know what the enemy is doing he is attempting to use the same tactic against the children of God to discourage them from stepping out in faith. He did it to Moses, Gideon, Jephthah and so many more who struggled to see what God saw because of fear, but if we trust in His Word we need not worry about how others may perceive us at the end of the day its all about God. Our worship goes to God and not man.
Others may see a timid person but God sees boldness, others may see a lamb but God sees a lion, others may see weak but God sees strong.
Just trust in The Lord, when that spirit of fear comes you take authority and you say “fear you do not belong to me, I speak boldness now! For I will fulfil what The Lord has called me to do and others will witness the great work that The Lord has done in my life.”
Where the spirit of The Lord is there is freedom, I thank The Lord for teaching me that there is freedom not just in the secret place but in the public place to therefore I am free to worship as the spirit leads and not as the flesh leads and as the spirit leads the flesh will obey and follow.
Worship is from the heart, and Jesus is the centre of it all.
Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. II Corinthians 3:17
But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord. II Corinthians 3:18
‘These people draw near to Me with their mouth, And honor Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me. Matthew 15:8
And in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’ ” Matthew 15:9
But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. John 4:23
God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” John 4:24
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. Romans 12:1
For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, Romans 12:4
so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. Romans 12:5
Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; Romans 12:6
or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching; Romans 12:7
he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness. Romans 12:8
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. II Timothy 1:7
Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner, but share with me in the sufferings for the gospel according to the power of God, II Timothy 1:8
who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began, II Timothy 1:9
Then Moses said to the Lord, “O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither before nor since You have spoken to Your servant; but I am slow of speech and slow of tongue.” Exodus 4:10
So the Lord said to him, “Who has made man’s mouth? Or who makes the mute, the deaf, the seeing, or the blind? Have not I, the Lord ? Exodus 4:11
Now therefore, go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall say.” Exodus 4:12
But he said, “O my Lord, please send by the hand of whomever else You may send.” Exodus 4:13
So the anger of the Lord was kindled against Moses, and He said: “Is not Aaron the Levite your brother? I know that he can speak well. And look, he is also coming out to meet you. When he sees you, he will be glad in his heart. Exodus 4:14
You ran well. Who hindered you from obeying the truth? Galatians 5:7
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. II Timothy 4:7
I will bless The Lord with all of my heart, and I will bless The Lord with all of my strength.
